MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE SEDONA PUBLIC LIBRARY COMPUTERS

Again, I file another in a long line of online complaints with regards to what has happened to our public internet here at the sedona public library. The internet computers are NOT WORKING PROPERLY. They are too slow and sluggish, take too long to re-boot and are generally in a highly dysfunctional state. The new Windows 10 system that was installed at the beginning of the year on all of the flatscreens have seriously compromised our computer/internet access here at the library. The flatscreens are designed to handle Windows 7 (note the stickers on the screens), NOT Windows 10. The only solution i foresee is to have the Windows 10 system REMOVED and the Windows 7 system Re-Installed on all of the internet computers, OR to purchase NEW hardware that can handle the new windows 10 system. (A few examples of Windows 10 dysfunctionality: Windows 10 takes up to 10 minutes to re-boot- which is outrageous. When one clicks the file manager, it SHOULD come up in a split second, instead it takes up to 2 minutes to pop up, etc, etc... This is NOT how the internet work, folks.) Your current flatscreens are incompatable with the new windows 10 operating system, its that plain and simple.

If this situation is not fixed soon, you give me no other choice than to publicly call for the dismissal of those responsible for this whole debacle- for incompetence, for failing to recognize a broken internet and fix it, for failing to acknowledge and respond to numerous patron complaints asking you to rectify this situation, for illegally "spamming" e-mail and intercepting complaint communications to other library personnel which are blatantly an attempt to muzzle me and for allowing this situation to go unresolved for weeks and months. I can ONLY conclude, therefore, that you have some ulterior motive that is preventing the resolution of this impasse within the sedona community.

A line has been crossed here Sedona Public Library, and i will NOT allow those responsible for dictatorially compromising our community internet here to get away with this. I will fight to the bitter end until fast, functional, efficient and proper internet access is restored back to the sedona community where it belongs. You should have kept the windows 7 system intact (you can still use it, as well as every past windows operating system that has ever been made), for the internet worked perfectly before the new windows 10 system was installed. If you can't or won't re-install windows 7, then find an alternative. That is my advice.

I will soon begin educating local businesses the public about this situation if our internet is not properly re-instated and restored back to our community.

***I will also be calling for the block to be REMOVED on the library wifi system that is preventing patrons from accessing VPN's. Accessing the internet anonymously is a constitutional right of ALL American citizens to be secure and to one's protect online privacy. VPN's allow patrons to uphold their 1st amendment right to free speech by accessing websites that have been ILLEGALLY blocked for political, social and/or religious reasons. This is America, NOT Communist China. Free speech is our LAW here and will be upheld and defended. I will also call for the REMOVAL of the "web application firewall" that is preventing patrons from editing and publishing certain web page creation sites such as 20.com, 50megs.com and tripod.com (all of which i personally use to write and publish global environmental articles). Again, free speech is the LAW here in America, and these blocks and firewalls are unlawfully breaching our right to free speech. Finially, i think its time to eliminate the barcode slip login system and open it up for patrons unlimited use. As i've mentioned previously, many public libraries across the western USA (where i travel alot) are bypassing the login system and opening up their internet for the public to use for however long they wish without time and pressure constraints. From experience, most people stay on for under an hour.
